Spooky Pumpkin Pie 🎃🥧

This was me and my sisters first time trying pumpkin pie and I wish we discovered it earlier!! It was super easy to make and the mixed spices perfectly complimented the pumpkin. If you’re feeling adventurous you can use marshmallows to give it that extra spooky feel however you may need patience writing out the boo😂

𝕀𝕟𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕕𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤

•400g Cooked Pumpkin (use tin if easier)

•225g Condensed Milk

•2 Eggs

•1 tbsp Golden Syrup

•1 tsp Cinnamon

•1/2 tsp Ground Ginger

•1/2 tsp Ground Cloves

•Optional 1/2 tsp Mixed Spice (cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg- for those who like spice)

•Shortcrust pastry

•Optional Marshmallows & Cookies

𝕄𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕕

  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 180 degrees (gas mark 4)

  2. Next butter your pastry tin to avoid your pastry sticking.

  3. Lightly dust your surface with plain flour and roll out your shortcrust pastry.

  4. Line your baking tin with the pastry and then put grease proof paper and baking beads on top and bake for 15minutes.

  5. Remove the grease proof paper and baking beads and cook for 10 minutes. When golden, remove form the oven and allow to cool.

  6. Whilst your base is cooking in the oven you can start creating the pumpkin filling!

  7. Mash your cooked pumpkin and pour into a large bowl.

  8. Next mix in 225g condensed milk and 2 beaten eggs.

  9. Add one squeeze of golden syrup and all your spices and mix well.

  10. When your pastry is complete, pour in your pumpkin pie mix and bake for 35 -40 minutes until the mix has solidified.

  11. Once solid remove from the oven and allow to cool

  12. Once cool decorate your pie with marshmallows and cookies and there you have a spooky pumpkin pie!!
